Meet the Reading Superheroes
The school we have sponsored since 2011 is now the national reading champion.
The story begins at the Dominican Republic's National Reading Festival in June 2025. Competing against schools from all 18 education regions of the country, the young readers of the José Altagracia Antigua Frías school in Las Coles, Arenoso took second place in the nation with their creative performance, "The Reading Superheroes".
And they were not done. In 2026 they came back as "Tripulación JAAF", an airline crew flying from region to region on the power of books, and this time they won first place in the nation.
These victories are personal for us: Joy Packs has proudly sponsored this school since 2011. Year after year, our backpacks and school supplies have been part of these classrooms, and watching these students become national champions is the greatest reward we could ask for.
The credit belongs to the students, their teachers, and their families. Their achievement is living proof that when a community keeps showing up for its children, reading truly becomes a superpower.

Behind every mission is a heart that believes deeply in it.
Joy Packs Inc. was founded by Glenny Cabral: a nurse, a mother, a leader, and an advocate for children and families in emerging communities.
Her passion for service began in healthcare, but it did not stop there. She believes that collaboration is the key to creating sustainable impact, and that where a child is born should never decide whether they have the tools to learn.
Joy Packs Inc. was built on compassion, community, and the belief that small acts of generosity can open big doors of opportunity. When we lead with heart, we do not just deliver supplies. We deliver hope.
